Jaclyn W. Babcock, Ph.D.

I am a Licensed Psychologist (SC #1576) and Certified School Psychologist III in South Carolina who specializes in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents. I received my Ph.D. in school psychology from The Graduate Center of City University of New York, where my dissertation research focused on identifying risk and protective factors associated with the development of behavioral problems in preschool-age children with developmental delays.

My training and experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings, including public, private, and alternative schools, mental health clinics, inpatient and outpatient hospital units, and the juvenile court system. During my early career, I worked extensively with preschool-age children who had been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or developmental delays in Brooklyn, New York. More recently, I’ve served PreK – 12th grade students with various needs and/or disabilities, including Specific Learning Disability, ADHD, and Anxiety Disorders, within the public schools of South Carolina. In both roles, my work with teachers and families has included individual training and group workshops designed to provide adults with the skills they need to better cope and manage challenging childhood behaviors. Regardless of the setting, I strive to support children’s functioning by identifying barriers to learning and developing plans that best support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. This includes utilizing evidence-based practices to provide assessments and treatment services that are personalized to address each child’s unique set of needs, including those related to poor emotional regulation and/or social engagement.

Outside of my professional life, I’m a wife and mother to three active young boys. As a family, we enjoy riding bikes, kayaking, trips to the beach, and exploring all the many events Greenville and the Upstate has to offer. On the rare occasion I find myself with a free moment, I love lounging at home with coffee and a good book.
